Default state - 1st time - is to just show search form. I think retrieving all contacts as a default is an expensive operation. If we find that this better matches user expectation, we can change it easily. |

"view contact" header right above the contact tabs does not make it clear what contact is being viewed. The label below the tabs does not really indicate that the tabs are actions performed on the specified object. |
View contact header should be replaced by an icon indicating individual, org or household and a header saying "View <contactdisplayname>"

Each relationship should have a definition that describes the possibilities. Only an organization can have employees. Only individuals can be employees. These definitions should be editable via an administrative screen.These rules are modeled in the schema and pretty much enforced in the UI. There are some problems with the display under the Relationships tab which I will be addressing this week. |

Main navigation should be next, previous cancel. Cancel and reset should be the same behavior taking the user back to the beginning of the import wizard. Summary screen should have a "finish" button that takes user back to initial default screen. Buttons are now Previous, Next, Cancel. Reset button is not relevant and has been removed. Cancel currently takes user to where they were prior to beginning Import step 1 (this may need to be changed - felt uncomfortable to me). |

first, previous, next, last hyperlinks in pagination should be visable at all times. They become disabled (inactive hyperlinks) when not relevant-on the first or last page.
Why is this better? Google, for example, doesn't show Previous link on first page of search results. |

Clicking on the save button when creating new contact. Screen re-scrolls to place the buttons at the bottom of the screen, but the save action is not completed. Clicking on save again after the screen scrolls, saves the record correctly. |

Phone number should have a mask that controls format and validation. US validation format would be (3digits) 3digits-4digits. Other countries would have different validation.This is a fairly big "ball of wax". Need to determine default behavior for contact's whose country has not been entered - and deal w/ fact that country is entered AFTER phone number, etc. Prob will make this default mask configurable by install. Will make note for v.2+ |

Advanced search results show up under the advanced search criteria box. The results are not obvious to the user since they are below the fold. |
Perhaps the advanced search criteria box could be collapsed with a +/- sign when returning the results. We could use this on the basic seach format as well. Done for Advanced Search. Let's wait and see if needed for Basic Search |
