Description

This is a basic scenario for site browsing start.

User types in a Site address Domain name or clicks on a URL in the search results. The typed in address needs to be as simple as possible and must correspond to the site structure. Preferably this is the path to the page excluding the main page.

Example URL for accessing the page named 2 nd levelpage: http://site-domain.net/1stlevelpage/2ndlevelpage

Corresponding site structure:

  • Home page (/)
    • 1 st level page (1stlevelpage)
      • 2 nd level page (2ndlevelpage)

External search engines index the pages in order to allow searching through it. Also web catalogues perform sort of indexing. Commonly they use meta-data provided with the web page to present links to web pages in the catalogue. See Document metadata.
